Things to do

There are loads of things to do in the local area -  just get in the car and explore the 90,000 acres of New Forest, visiting one of the many beautiful places – Beaulieu and Bucklers Hard to name but two.

With 145 bedrooms, Carrington House Hotel can provide relaxed and comfortable accommodation for families, couples or single occupancy. Although informal, Mortimers restaurant provides a wonderful range from their ala Carte or table d'hote menus. To top it all there is a swimming pool and games room to keep you busy!

The hotel is set just outside the bustle of the town centre in the leafy suburb of East Cliff, but is only a 20 minute walk to the town centre and 7 mile golden sandy beach. Or for those hot days when 20 minutes is just too much - there is a land train for a fun trip along the beach to the town centre - and a regular bus service. So, you are never far away from the centre of the town!

Getting out an about on your short break shows Bournemouth to be an ideal starting point to explore the Jurassic Coast and hunt dinosaurs at the Dinosaur Museum, or revel in the beautiful scenery and wildlife of the New Forest. Indeed, there are even guided coach tours that will pick you up from the hotel and show you the sights of Dorset, and Hampshire.

For those looking for a little more adventure in their weekend break, there is now the opportunity to learn to surf at the Bournemouth Surf School. For younger visitors of 2 - 12, there is Adventure Wonderland based on Alice's adventures incorporating games and rides to thrill, a must for families.
